1950s West Germany Indian Chief Glass Christmas Ornament
This 1950s West Germany silvered glass Christmas ornament is an Indian chief head, 4 inches high. He wears a feathered headdress and matching feather collar. The face is painted flat flesh-tone pink. Note the decal blue eyes - they were only used for a short time as they tended to peel and flake off easily. White mica glitter frames the chief's face and the center back headdress plume is also white mica. The ornament is in excellent condition for its 60-some year age, with only a small scratch to the face paint at the tip of the nose and some minor mica loss.

The metal cap is marked West Germany. It's too large for the pike and is probably a replacement. See my other listings for hundreds of antique and vintage Christmas items. It's heartbreaking to hear that awful tinkling when your package arrives and you find nothing but shards inside.

Almost all my items are antique or vintage and come from a variety of sources. I cannot guarantee that any item is from a smoke-free or pet-free home.
